Uthmeier stated that the probe will involve upcoming subpoenas to hold the company accountable for activities he claims have endangered the public. While OpenAI maintains that it builds safety features to prevent misuse and intends to cooperate with the investigation, this development adds to growing concerns regarding the intersection of AI and violent behavior, often referred to as "AI psychosis."
