Anthropic ups compute deal with Google and Broadcom amid skyrocketing demand

AI research lab Anthropic has announced a new agreement with Google and Broadcom to significantly increase its processing and compute capacity, driven by the escalating demand for its Claude AI models. This expansion builds upon previous deals, including a commitment for over a gigawatt of compute capacity struck in October 2025. The new capacity, expected to come online in 2027, includes a substantial 3.5 gigawatts of compute as indicated by a Broadcom SEC filing. The majority of this infrastructure will be located in the U.S., aligning with Anthropic's $50 billion investment in domestic compute infrastructure. The company's CFO, Krishna Rao, stated that this partnership is crucial for scaling infrastructure to serve exponential customer growth and advance AI development. Anthropic has experienced a dramatic surge in demand for its Claude models from enterprise clients, contributing to a reported run rate revenue of $30 billion, a significant increase from $9 billion at the end of 2025. The company also recently secured a $30 billion Series G funding round, valuing it at $380 billion, and boasts over 1,000 business customers spending more than $1 million annually.
