OpenAI just bought TBPN

OpenAI has purchased TBPN, the viral online talk show that frequently features interviews with prominent figures in the AI and tech industries. TBPN, which streams live every weekday, considers itself a competitor to traditional financial news channels like Bloomberg and CNBC. The show has hosted OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, as well as executives from Meta, Microsoft, Palantir, and Andreessen Horowitz. Host John Coogan announced on X that the show will continue operating as usual, noting a long-standing relationship with Sam Altman, who funded his first company in 2013. TBPN currently averages around 70,000 viewers per episode and generated over $5 million in advertising revenue this year, with projections exceeding $30 million by 2026, according to The Wall Street Journal.
