Alexa+ gets new food ordering experiences with Uber Eats and Grubhub

Amazon has upgraded Alexa+ to enable a more natural food ordering experience with Uber Eats and Grubhub. Users can now order food conversationally, specifying cuisine, customizing meals, and adjusting quantities within a single interaction. The feature requires linking Uber Eats or Grubhub accounts to the Alexa app, after which previous orders are synced for easy reordering. Currently rolling out to Alexa+ customers with Echo Show 8 devices and larger, this advancement aims to establish adaptive interaction models for future expansion into areas like grocery shopping and travel. While AI is increasingly used in the food industry, challenges with order accuracy remain, as seen with McDonald’s and Taco Bell’s recent AI initiatives. Alexa+ continues to evolve with new features, including personality styles like 'Sassy', 'Brief', 'Chill', and 'Sweet'.
