Google’s ‘live’ AI search assistant can handle conversations in dozens more languages

Google is broadening the availability of its 'Search Live' feature, an AI-powered search assistant that utilizes voice and camera input, to over 200 countries and territories. This expansion is enabled by the new Gemini 3.1 Flash Live model, designed for speed and multilingual capabilities. Users can access Search Live through the Google app on Android or iOS by tapping the 'Live' button or via Google Lens, allowing them to ask questions about objects captured by their phone's camera. Google also announced the rollout of real-time translation within the Translate app for iOS users, expanding to several new regions including Germany, Spain, and Japan.
