Put Claude to work on your computer

Anthropic has introduced a research preview allowing Claude Pro and Max users to enable Claude to directly use their computers to complete tasks. When Claude lacks necessary tools, it can now navigate the screen, open files, use browsers, and run development tools with user permission. This feature prioritizes existing connectors but can directly control the browser, mouse, and keyboard when needed, with built-in safeguards against prompt injection and the ability for users to halt Claude at any time. While still early in development and prone to occasional errors, this capability is particularly effective when paired with Dispatch, a feature enabling continuous conversation with Claude from both mobile and desktop. Currently, computer use is supported on macOS only and requires enabling within the desktop app settings.
