Adobe’s AI image generator can now be trained on your own art

Adobe has released Firefly Custom Models in public beta, enabling creators and brands to train AI image generators using their own assets. This tool is designed to ensure generated images maintain a consistent aesthetic, preserving details like stroke weight, color palettes, and character features across high-volume content production. The custom models are private by default, meaning the training data will not be used for Adobe's general Firefly models. Adobe emphasizes that this allows users to generate new ideas aligned with their unique aesthetic at scale. While Adobe promotes Firefly as an ethical alternative trained on licensed and public domain content, they do not explicitly state measures to prevent users from training custom models on work they do not own, though users are prompted to confirm they have the necessary rights.
