Google adds a way to create automated workflows to Opal

Google announced an update to its vibe-coding app, Opal, introducing a new agent that allows users to create automated workflows via text prompts. This feature utilizes the Gemini 3 Flash model and can automatically select tools to execute tasks, such as using Google Sheets to maintain session memory like a shopping list. These agents are natively interactive, prompting users for necessary information or choices to determine the next steps. Google claims this addition enables users without technical skills to build complex workflows within their apps. Opal, first introduced in July 2025, allows users to create or remix mini web apps, and was integrated into the Gemini web app in December 2025 for no-code custom app creation.
