Samsung is adding Perplexity to Galaxy AI

Samsung is incorporating the AI search engine Perplexity into its Galaxy AI suite, enabling users to activate it by saying "hey, Plex" alongside Bixby or Gemini. This integration is part of Samsung's strategy to embrace a "multi-agent ecosystem," recognizing that users often prefer different AI agents for specific tasks. Perplexity will have access to several native Samsung apps, including Notes, Clock, Gallery, Reminder, and Calendar, as well as unspecified third-party applications. Samsung is betting that offering users the flexibility to choose their preferred AI agent will be a key differentiator against competitors like Apple and Google. More details about this multi-agent vision are expected at Samsung's upcoming Unpacked event on the 25th.
